My 2015ex has cost me on average £200.00 each year at my local Honda dealership.

my first service is due on Saturday and that is £195

I then have bought a 3 year service plan for £746 which will cover me for my 4 years PCP.

Jazz is a CVT.

CVT oil changes are due every 2 years or every 25,000 miles, whichever is the soonest.

Services are small, £165, medium £300, large £450, plus any extras.

Service intervals are 12500 miles and CVT fluid changes are every 25,000 (medium), and spark plugs at 75,000 (large).

12500 miles, small
25000 miles, medium
37500 miles, small
50000 miles, medium
62500 miles, small
75000 miles large
repeat

Today I had the CVT oil change done at Gatwick Honda and it cost £85 incl. VAT. I have owned the car for a week and its sevice history is non Honda for the last few years. Whilst it has had oil and filter changes every year, CVT oil change, brake fluid change and pollen filter change all ignored, or not done out of ignorance. It may cost a few pound more but consider the benefits of getting your pride and joy looked at regularly by a Honda trained technician. I also had the free health check carried out. My first post. Hello everybody. :)

Although I have a 5 year service contract and therefore pay nothing, the invoice for my first (small) annual service at 10k miles showed a notional figure of £158.65 inc VAT, and for the second (medium) at 20K miles, £288.65, including CVT oil change.  For some reason the figures were not shown for the third year service, but this would be similar to the first (small).  So using those notional figures my guess for 4 years would be about £900.  However, these may have been inflated to show what good value my £550 5 year contract was!

Honda dealers seem reluctant to change the CVT oil every two years, when I had my CVT Jazz and I put it in for the second years service the dealer tried to tell me it did not need doing as it was low mileage, I pointed out that the Honda service schedule quoted every two years and if they were not prepared to do it I wanted the reason why in writing so that if at any time I had a problem with the gearbox they could be held responsible as they had not kept to the Honda service schedule.

I am convinced that as I had a five year service plan they were trying to keep costs down by saving on the oil, though they would still be getting the full amount for the cost of the service from Honda.

My Jazz at 26,000 mile and 5 years has had 2 CVT fluid changes. However, having looked back at the invoices there is no reference to any CVT filter change. Is there a filter and, if so, when is it due for change.
I am a bit nervous as at the last service by an independent (contrary to instruction) they put non-Honda fluid in and had to drain and refill (at their own cost).

On my last jazz I was getting different information from different places so had to ring Honda and was told every 2 years, when booked my mk3 jazz in for 2nd service told them to change to cvt as well, did not appear to put up any argument, will check again on the day.  Got 4 yr service plan in place.  Will be taking a list with me from the service book to check that we are all on the same page.

I don't think there's any filter for the gearbox. The mechanism sits in an oilbath and any muck should stay at the bottom.
