Fitting eBay Centre Console/Armrest.
« on: September 10, 2011, 02:28:12 PM »
Well, it arrived this morning after almost 3 weeks. Well worth the wait!

One screw holds it in in picture 4.

From start to finish it took 5 mins and that includes unpacking it!

That's an interesting upgrade that is more useful than Honda's standard issue. I'm interested but fear that it would conflict with the driver's armrest that's provided on my HS.

Very nice Geoffer!  8)

Thanks for the pics.

However, just the one screw??  Does that provide sufficient support? I thought there were four screws that holds the arm rest in place?

Either way, nice upgrade  ;D

Well, there is three screws in the pack but no instructions!  :o
One is an obvious fit. There is a predrilled hole in the bottom of the part that fits in the existing console rear pocket. However there are no others and I didn't want holes that would show after it's removal!
The one is sufficient though.  :D

Does the console platform slid forwards?  And is the console the same height as the drivers side door armrest?

I hate armrest consoles that do not balance.  If they do not balance then almost no point in having it.

So what you're saying is, if it's not the same height there was no point in me buying it!
As it happens my arms aren't long enough to reach the steering wheel with my elbows on the armrests!

Thx.  You've answered my question.

I'm looking to get another Jazz in the next 6-12 months (will pass on the current 2007 one to the wife).  It will be my 4th.  But one of the deciding factors, strangely enough, will be the armrest.  I do a lot of motor way driving and I like to have both hands on the wheel while both my elbows on the armrests.

The best car I ever came that had this was the A-class.  The engineers spent time to ensure that the armrest on the door was the same height as the one aboth the handbrake.
