Steering wheel alignment
« on: January 17, 2012, 04:54:54 PM »
The tyres on my 2006 Jazz are 18 months old and have done 13000 miles. As they are about mid life I have had them rebalanced and swapped front to back. At the same time I had a computerised 4 wheel alignment and the front left was adjusted. According to the print out everything is now within specification. It feels more stable on the road than before however the steering wheel is turned slightly left of centre when going in a straight line, previously it was centred correctly. My question is should I take it back for realignment?

The realignment has not been distributed correctly around a centred steering wheel. Probably all been adjusted at one end of the steering rack   :(

They should have put a bar between the steering wheel and the driver`s seat to keep the steering wheel centered. Take the car back and get them to do it again.

Good - your experience is common where mechs take the easy way option.  I always say 'Please ensure that any adjustment is distributed on a centred steering wheel'  This request is always understood.
