Title: Mk3 16" alloy wheels on Mk1
Post by: Torquemadder on January 04, 2019, 01:32:26 AM
Has anyone else tried to do this?  I bought these wheels  and just tried to fit them. The rear wheels fit ok but the front wheels are touching the brake calliper slide. I know the offset is identical.

I will try 5mm wheel spacers but I'm concerned that the wheel nuts will have 5mm less thread to hold onto

The offset ( ET ) is just the dimension from the hub flange mounting face to the centre of the rim - it says nothing about  the shape of the spokes etc and the way they are attached to the rim.  Where did you get the wheels from,  did they claim these wheels were suitable for a Jazz  ?

Which model MK1 of Jazz was fitted with 16" wheels, I thought OEM were generally 14" and never went larger than 15"

Like I said, the wheels are from a mk3 Jazz. The question was for anyone else who tried this already lol.

I can’t find anything online for this case. It could be useful for anyone else considering buying late model OEM rims for their mk1. I’ll post pics if I am successful.

I am running 16'' wheels off a SI jazz on my 2006 sport and I used 3mm front spacers .

It does make the speedo run spot on to the sat nav only reading 1mph slower at 70 mph.
