Honda have announced prices for the new Fit (Jazz) in the United States. The new model goes on sale next week priced at $14,550 (£7827.20*) for the entry model and $16,060 (£8639.51*) for the top-range Sport. Unlike the European models, the Fit is powered by the 1.5-litre 120bhp i-VTEC engine, with fuel economy rated at 28mpg city (U.S. gallons) and 35mpg highway. All models come with the 5-speed manual transmission with a 5-speed automatic option.
Honda sold 73,887 first generation Fits in the U.S. between April 2006 and October 2007. With the recent trend of downsizing in the North American market, sales of the second generation Fit are predicted to better the impressive benchmark set by the 2007/08 models.
