Title: Fuel consumption
Post by: guest5079 on September 12, 2017, 09:10:02 AM
Our Jazz has returned about 45mpg regularly.
We have just returned from a trip encompassing parts of the Brecon Beacons and the rather steep hills there. On the first day, a presumed trip of about 100 miles turned into 160 trying to find accommodation it seems that once the children returned to school all the oldies turned out for a break.Wherever we went was the same story, sorry we are fully booked, we just don't understand what is going on, it must be to do with the pound.   The 60 miles was mainly Town work driving round in circles due to Somerset Councils  aversion to road signs. I think we saw towns that I would  sooner have missed.
Then we had some of the Welsh hills and lanes added to motorway thrashing, I felt that 570 miles using approx 10 gallons was a pretty good return.
The only downside was the I shift got it's knickers in a twist when a couple of times that I tried kick down and it couldn't make up it's mind whether to go into second or third. Perhaps it didn't like Wales. I am well into my 70's have arthritis in the spine and had NO back ache. As for the Nissan Note, had a problem with one in Wales that thought it was better than the Jazz, well it wasn't a patch on acceleration and cornering. Believe you me he was trying.  After a few miles I pulled over and let him play with  himself.

570 miles from 10 gallons of petrol is an admirable figure.

Having reviewed the petrol receipts I might have been a bit generous. It was probably closer to 11 gallons which is still 50 to the gallon.
Yes I think the Jazz rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our 2014 automatic has now covered 22000 miles at 49.3mpg. Mainly rural driving in the New Forest and trips to major urban centres like Southampton and Bournemouth. No long trips these days.
