If its the original fill then its every 120,000 miles or 10 years and then every 60,000 miles or 5 years and that's using the Honda stuff.

Yes that's why I am asking I only bought the car on Friday last week so its a must do before Winter sets in. Plus I cannot find any history of it being changed.

Best to change on the correct intervals.

Checking the specific gravity tells you if the antifreeze properties are okay, but not the corrosion inhibitors, which are used up in time. Antifreeze should be completely renewed generally every 2, 5 or 10 years, depending upon the type used.

That said, if the history was unknown but the antifreeze looked clean, and the sg was good, I wouldn't worry too much for now. If it looked opaque and smelled of old antifreeze, or the sg indicated low antifreeze content, I would probably change it.

You say your car is a 58 plate but your Id  shows 2006?

If it's a 58 plate you need to find out which month it is as well as the year to see when it's exactly 10 years old.

If it's had the original antifreeze from new then it's just changed according to age/mileage as I quoted in a previous reply

+1

2018 - 2008 = 10 years = time for a change anyway.
