Auto judder - flush and revitalizant procedure
« on: November 19, 2021, 12:19:25 AM »
Hi guys, my mate has a Mk.1 auto Jazz (2004) which has the dreaded judder under acceleration (very noticeable in our hilly area). The guy he bought it from said that the tranny fluid had been changed already, which I personally think is full of **********.

Essentially I just wanna check this this the correct course of action and order of events -

Drain the transmission fluid, replace with new stuff
Drain it again and replace with new stuff again, fit a new plug washer,
Start the engine, wait 10 minutes as it gets up to temperature
Go through all the gear positions a few times, wait a few more mins
Go for a 10-15 min drive
Add some revitalisant (as seen here: Go for another 10-15min drive

And it should be done. Is this correct for a flush+ adding formula? Would you not use the revitalisant or similar at all? I'd like to not blow up my mate's transmission if possible. Thanks very much:)

Make sure you use the correct HONDA fluid. That is a must.

Honda recommendation is 2 flushes and a final fill, you will need 2 x 4 litres of Genuine CVT-F. Mine was done about 14 months ago and EX-120 added for good measure, no stutters or jerks since, still smooth as silk.

Both what Ukjim and Joko had stated are a must. My Honda friend mechanic also had said the same thing.

Yes it's not a good news to do two flushes but it has be be done to cure it for another two years
