air bag recall
« on: June 23, 2016, 09:34:28 AM »
Have just received a recall notice for the air bag on my 2015 Jazz,  I am a little apprehensive about it, are they going to do anything wrong and muck up the dash board, and leave me with a load of rattles, at the moment there is not one rattle.  Has anyone had this job done yet, or has anyone thought of leaving well alone.

It's quite straightforward, passenger side is done by taking out upper glove box, drivers side by unclipping steering wheel centre cap.  They've had a lot of practice to get it right so won't be breaking any clips.

Just received letters from Honda dealer about replacing master switch on driver door. I have fitted the keyless entry to the car. Would that be a problem when I take car to the dealer?

When you say master switch do you mean for the windows?,  ours was recalled for that along with other models a long time ago, all they do is replace the switch so as long as you have one they will replace it like for like or maybe you mean something else.

Re quality of work, we had our mk1 airbags done last year and haven't noticed any change,/damage/ rattles etc, standard of work was fine

Just reading about this airbag recall and didn't realise until last post no. 6, that it also affected Mk1 models! Does this mean that it likely my 2010 Si model would also need recall...or is it just a certain number this affects!

Also, as I am not the original owner (as some will have read) would I still be in line to be notified via letter, if required by honda?

MT's.

I would imagine that they would contact the current registered owner. The DVLA would provide them with the details.

Yes, any recall letters are sent to the current registered keeper, Spencer69, if you go to the Honda web site there is a section for recalls,  just put your VIN number in and any work needed is listed,
