Honda Jazz Mk3 2015 - 2020 / Re: Overheating lamp comes on on motorway driving or in heavy stop/start traffic
« Last post by degzi on May 25, 2024, 09:51:02 PM »If it does it again turn the engine off and see if the radiator is hot, I had it on a audi that the coolant temp sensor was faulty and wasn't sending coolant around the radiator so it was getting hot although nothing was wrong with the water level / circulation etc.

« Last post by Toptek on May 25, 2024, 08:28:14 PM »I have used petrol lighter fluid with good results, where others like Meths ,White spirit and Turps Sub have failed.I would like to say that I wouldn't recommend lighter fluid, as a previous colleague did this and a flash spark severely burnt him in his kitchen.
There's a product called googone which eventually works but depends on getting under plastic labels.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Low speed EV noise is quite loud.
« Last post by Jazzik on May 25, 2024, 01:36:27 PM »They emit a sort of surreal 'space ship' sound at low speed, while in EV mode to alert pedestrians.
I wonder if some people don't know what it is.
I tried it out. I always see people looking up, as if they are looking for the aliens landing.
Downright dangerous : they really don't see your Jazz!!!

« Last post by Lord Voltermore on May 25, 2024, 10:46:45 AM »PS. if you do buy a complete used tailgate and replace it yourself bear in mind that some breakers might sell the whole unit including glass, wiper motor etc , rather than spend time and money stripping it down to parts and trying to sell them separately .
But that doesnt mean you cant then strip down the old tailgate yourself and list individual parts on ebay.
You may get some of your money back.

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: Overheating lamp comes on on motorway driving or in heavy stop/start traffic
« Last post by Lord Voltermore on May 25, 2024, 10:26:35 AM »I dont know about the Mk2 Jazz but some cars are very susceptible to air locks unless the coolant is refilled in a specific way . It often has to be refilled VERY slowly, as a dribble rather than being glugged in.
These airlocks can be very persistent and prevent the coolant circulating freely. For instance at times the water pump may be trying to pump compressible air rather than a liquid.
Even if things seem to settle down again by itself its a good idea to get the system, and possible causes checked out by an expert . In the 'good old days' loss of coolant could cause the temperature gauge to go very high, then suddenly drop to a low reading. But far from being a good sign this meant the coolant levels had dropped so low the temperature gauge was no longer immersed in coolant and major engine damage was imminent.
