Hi,
My local independent has just changed my CVT fluid for me, using the genuine Honda CVT fluid.
Since the change, the driving characteristic has changed. In D, the engine now revs higher when accelerating to e.g. 30mph. The revs go up to 2,000, so almost as much as when in S mode.
Once the speed is reached, the revs drop back down to about 1,000-1,2000
Previously D mode would have used the high torque output of the engine to move the car from the low revs of 1,000-1,2000
Is this right? I don't dislike the change, just wondered how on earth changing the fluid can have an effect on the ratio.
It might have been wrong before and the new fluid has corrected it. I have nothing to compare to so have no idea.
The fluid level seems over full to me when cold (way above the cold marker) but strangely is about right when hot.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.
