Try your local dealer. In theory, it should just be a case of ordering a new key and then leaving the car with the dealer for a short while to code the new key to the immobiliser.

Richard tried my local locksmith, he read the key that I have on his sensor it did not register a chip in it, but he did not have a blank anything like the one we have, wondering if a trip to Honda will produce any results. What I am really asking is do the imports have a different ignition set up? and how will I be received by the Honda Dealership.

Imports may lack the immobiliser; if so, it may simply be a case of ordering a new key. Ask your dealer, I see no reason why they should’nt help even though it’s an import.

In general there are 2 prices for replacement keys

base key to start car + maccess via door lockes also deadlocks £30.00 for the balnk + £35.00 to program the key

full replacement from dealership £100-175.00 gives full use of the remote buttons etc

You know which you need

spend the change on a half tank of fuel!

Do your keys have the remote buttons on the key fob or have a separate remote blipper?
