Honda Jazz emblem
« on: February 17, 2021, 04:10:59 PM »
Hello,

I'm new to this so hope I'm posting in the right place!

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a steering wheel emblem for a 2007 1.4-DSI SE CVT-7 5dr? I'm buying a used Jazz and on the H part of the badge, the chrome has nearly all peeled off.

Thanks!

Start here and see if you can find it:

https://www.lingshondaparts.com/partscatalog/catalog/selectsearch/catalog/hondacars/

They have all parts in blown up diagrams.
Let's be careful out there !

Unfortunately, I don't think it's available separately from the airbag.

Best bet might be a wheel from a breakers yard.

It's on the removable airbag, you'll need that.

Yes. You would have to get the whole package.

Just a thought. There is a recall for the airbag. Book it in to the dealer and get the airbag changed for free. That may give you a new emblem.

They usually sell the airbags as part of a kit with all the other airbags, and the wheel separately.

I like it. That airbag might be pretty old if the badge is flaking.

£10 on ebay. Should be a straight swap, plug and play. I would disconnect the battery for a couple of hours before replacing the air bag though.

Is that just on the Jazz Mk1? Thanks.

Check on the MOT site. They tell you any outstanding recalls.

Wrong airbag, that's for an S model, OP has a SE.

This is the one, but you have to watch out as lots of the badges are going flaky.

As Jocko says, check the MOT history, or stick your VIN in here

Thanks. I knew I had seen that somewhere, but couldn't remember where. No recall outstanding on my '13 Jazz.  :D

Just for clarity, this is the deactivation procedure that you must follow before removing the airbag.

Remove the ignition key
Switch off all electrical equipment
Disconnect the battery negative and insulate the terminal to prevent any accidental reconnection
Wait at least 3 minutes for the back-up capacitor to dissipate

Do not place your arms or face in front of the airbag whilst disconnecting or removing. Carry the airbag facing away from you, and store the airbag face up. Replace the securing screws with new when refitting.

Fair point well made!  :D I didn't realise an airbag might change dependent on model, not something I've come across before. Naturaly, I would advise checking the part number with your own before buying.
