Workshop printed manual for Jazz 1.4 iVtech 2012
« on: October 26, 2023, 08:34:08 PM »
I thought I would buy the Haynes printed manual for my Jazz. How difficult can it be?

During the Google search Haynes offered the online AutoFix. It said the information was not based on a model strip-down but surely that would be crazy? What use would that be? Would Haynes lose the plot and offer something of no use whatsoever...? So I bought a subscription and...

... found it to be totally useless.

Has anyone else found this?

I left it 24hrs and went back and tried again - useless - totally. What is going on?

And then after lots of Googling I could only find a printed manual for the "Fit". Is this worth getting? Have I missed something obvious? How difficult can it be to find a printed manual?
Kind regards
Stephen Ford

Thanks. I couldn't see a manual for my 2012 Jazz. From my searches it appears there isn't one, or rather it's for the Fit/Jazz. I saw a YouTube video of a Fit that was the same year as mine but was totally different in the area being shown. If I was to buy that it would be handy if the differences were listed somewhere.

Thanks for that. It seems to be ok. I will see how I get on.

I bought a Chilton manual for a Fit as, like you, couldn't find a Haynes one.

Thought that as Chilton were now owned by Haynes it would be pretty near to what I needed.

Big mistake. Found that the Fit seems to vary quite a lot from the Jazz and that it was probably not much help for Fit owners. Old man Haynes must be spinning in his grave!

I bought a Chilton manual for a Fit ...

Interesting. Even companies with a well-established business model can start to wander aimlessly...

I was waxing lyrical to a neighbour about Haynes, and said "Look, I'm just about to buy the manual for mine. Then we can sort one out for your car..." After my hopes fell apart, at least I found a printed version for her car.

Mind you, the manual at the link provided by Madasafish, above, appears very workable.

The instruction in the link I gave  are what I used for brake changing and servicing. As a DIYer and a Scot free manuals are the way to go. The Chilton one is pants. :'(

An email from Haynes just confirmed that they have not produced a printed manual for the Jazz 2012 (L13Z1 i-VTEC 1339cc)

I ran a 2012 model for ten years and home serviced it for seven of those years.  I bought the latest Haynes manual for a Jazz, details below, and never had any problem with the details I needed.  There seems to be a lot of commonality between the previous version of the car and the one I owned.

I get 99% of info I need from the freebie online manual. I just wish the diagrams were a little clearer, but for the price, you can't complain.

Opinions and lots of other info are on this forum. Makes owning a Jazz better having these resources available.
