2003 Jazz rear screen demister

Hi,

My rear screen heater is not working, the fuse is OK,  I can see a break in the element , the dash indicator light will not come on.
Has anybody repaired a break using a conductive pen ?
Would the break cause the dash indicator lamp not to light ?
Any advice would be appreciated, particularly the resistance readings across the terminals

Normally when there's a break in the element just that line doesn't work.

The rest should be ok provided there's no breaks in them.

I would first check the terminal connectors on each end of the screen.
