Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Low speed EV noise is quite loud.

I can't hear my Jazz when in EV mode from inside the car but I have heard both a Jazz and a CRV passing our house and the EV noise is loud enough in my opinion. I wonder if some people don't know what it is.

I've never had to pay for Honda Assistance, the dealership will always extend cover for a further 12 months when the car is serviced if requested.

PS.  if you do  buy a complete used tailgate  and replace it yourself bear in mind that some breakers might sell the whole unit including glass, wiper motor etc  , rather than spend time and money stripping it down to parts and trying to sell them separately  .

But that doesnt mean you cant then strip down the old tailgate yourself  and list individual parts on ebay.
You may get some of your money back.

I dont know about the Mk2 Jazz but some cars are very susceptible  to air locks  unless the coolant is refilled in a specific way  . It often has to be refilled VERY slowly, as a dribble  rather than  being glugged in.

These airlocks can be very persistent  and prevent the coolant circulating freely.  For instance at times the water pump may be trying to pump compressible air rather than a liquid.

Even if things seem to settle down again by itself  its a good idea to get the system, and possible causes checked out by an expert  .   In the 'good old days'  loss of coolant could cause the temperature gauge   to go very high,  then suddenly drop to a low reading.  But far from being a good sign this meant the coolant levels had dropped so low the temperature gauge was no longer immersed in coolant and major engine damage was imminent.

They emit a sort of surreal 'space ship' sound at low speed, while in EV mode  to alert pedestrians.  Its less obvious to those in the car, as it can be drowned out by tyre noise etc, made by all cars.

Not long ago  we were eating out in a town square.  A car  drove past in EV mode making the 'whirring' noise .
My wife commented on it being an electric vehicle.  I pointed out it was  a mk4 Jazz  ;D

There are also specialist  'used car  part finder' websites.(do a google search)  You enter the part you need (and can specify colour) .The service is free to buyers.    With luck various car breakers around the country will respond with their price for the part including postage.  With a more common car you may be spoiled for choice ,and some may be close enough to collect/inspect  yourself  . You can also pay using the sites own secure payment, just like ebay.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015 - 2020 / Re: New Head Unit/Infotainment

The clock is always available on the RH side of the speedometer as normal & can be changed by the SW buttons. The new HU will display a clock in native Android, Android Auto or CarPlay so don't see any problem with that.

Just updated my post above to confirm the RH clock does change in sync with the Joying HU  :D

Looks like a potentially useful update. Just to be clear:
1. An earlier post suggested this unit doesn’t have a DAB receiver, is that right? Does it have any broadcast radio functionality at all, or do you have to do everything through a web connection (or pre-recorded)?
2. Does it integrate with the car’s systems to display stuff like MPG (current drive, history of Trip A) and the parking sensors?
3. The stock unit is the means of adjusting the car’s clock, does this unit provide that? If not, how do you do that?
(These might not be important to you, but might be to someone else).

1. Correct, you have to add a USB DAB receiver if you want that and then you'd have to wire a separate DAB antenna because like UKJim I couldn't find a suitable Honda adaptor.
2. Actually it does show the history of Trip A, not sure if it shows the live mpg but it does show everything associated with Trip A that the stock HU does. Parking sensors show on the screen and even open doors show on the screen (don't think the stock HU did that?).
3. Clock - Yes, it adjusts the time on the instrument cluster. And the brilliant thing is you connect the HU to WiFi and then that's your DST change taken care off too!
