multi information display
« on: September 08, 2015, 06:35:14 AM »
hello fellow jazz enthusiasts.
I have had my jazz for a month and have named him ALBERT because he has so many clever features.
The one feature I have not managed to suss is how to reset the average speed in the "B" mode. Does anyone know how to do this?

Select B mode, using the rubber push "button", in the dial.

Press and hold, for reset.

It took me a while, to figure it out.....

thank you to the 3 replyers!
I have done the following, which I think is what you recommend: ignition key to position II. Press dashboard to select "B". Select average speed. Press dashboard again. Result: resets mileage, does not reset average speed.
Tried pressing steering wheel reset. Result: the same
Do you think I have a fault?

Some displays relate to A, and some to B.  They are not all changeable.  You can work out average speed from hours and distance, but not when you're negotiating a roundabout in rush-hour!

Thanks for this. But I am increasingly feeling that I have a fault here, unless anyone has really bright ideas?

Just been out and checked on my 2012 ES. I think there is only one average speed, and the trip A and trip B are the separate trip meters , but there is no separate A and B average speed display. I don't use the average speed as I have never found a need for it, but on my car it shows 35 mph whether I'm displaying trip A or trip B. Some functions can only be reset if total distance display is selected so that may be a clue, but as I don't want to reset my display I can't help much more. I use mpg on trip A which I reset regularly to check fuel consumption, and tend to leave B alone--except that it tracks overall fuel consumption since I have had the car , and my B mileage is the same as total mileage.
If you are worried about it why not pop back to the dealers and ask them , that's what I would do .
Sorry I can't be more helpful, but it's Friday and my brain hurts !   ;D

I don't think you have a fault.  Average speed works on register A only, and cumulative journey time works on register B only.  Not very logical, but that's how it's always been on mine!
