My current car has one factory fitted. It is well worth having I would say but you definitely should also be looking around and not staring at it. I fitted one as part of a dashcam set to my old GD1. It wasn't as hard as I thought and again I found it useful.

This is my first car with a reversing camera in almost 60 years of driving and I can honestly say I would not like to be without it. With the option of 3 settings I can view 20 yards away down to a metre behind the car and with the audio signal reversing is a doddle.
I chose the EX Navi for it's bells and whistles and the camera is my favourite "toy". ;)

My Civic has the rearview cam and I only use it as a backup (pun) to the beepers and door mirrors when reversing.

One issue on the Civic is in bad weather the road spray goes up the tailgate and covers the lens with dirty water.reducing its effectiveness.
Let's be careful out there !

i have a mk3 ex with reversing camera as standard. i parked up in a space in a carpark and there was no car behind at the time of parking. when i returned there was but when i put the car into reverse the camera showed an empty space behind as it was when i first parked. anybody got any thoughts or ideas why this has happened.
