Nowhere did it specify the size of the doormat,  only the size of the parcel..( 1 foot square) so how the size of doormat can be deduced from that info I do not know ?  were some assumptions made ? ( clue assume = ass U make of U and me ).
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

I had no idea what was meant either, hence the "Sorry?" comment. Maybe I should have been more precise and said a foot cubed parcel.

I got the second one. I hoped my "Sorry?" might have elicitated an explanation of the first. Would you like to illuminate me?

I am surprised that you do not know, you seem to know every thing else, but just to  put you out of your misery.

IT was meant to be a joke. Is that ok now

I realised it was meant to be a joke. Would you care to explain it to me as I am sorry but I don't get it?

Is someone mixing up a foot square with a square foot?

I leave you all for a few days and you're falling out over a cardboard box!

Not even as far as the Great Glen. I was ordering items and when I was asked my postcode (Kirkcaldy) I was told postage would be higher for "Highlands and Islands". I declined to pursue my purchase.
Perhaps someone is confusing Kirkaldy wiith Kirkwall.

It was the postcode that triggered it. Must have flagged something on their system.

Apart from the usual Highland/Islands line, I have seen the odd company that bump up the cost north of Dundee. Kirkcaldy's a bit cheeky though, it's hardly remote!
