The use of 'blue' as a cleaning enhancer is a trick as old as time.
If you are 70+ years old you may remember your mother using a 'blue bag' in the washing rinsing water. This because the blue colour enhances the finish of light coloured clothes and is a trick still used by washing powder manufacturers today.
