Most cheap Code Readers only read engine codes. Not ABS codes.

Yep, aware of that. That is why I am asking. Thank you.

The best value/quality code readers I've heard of are Autel. I had a speedy look on Amazon for you, and a reader for ABS in addition to regular codes was c£80 IIRC.

HTH

If I need a code reader, due to reputation, it's an Autel I'd buy.

After few hours of research and reading reviews Topdon AD 500S seems to be the most comprehensive one in its price bracket, just ordered it as seller confirmed it will do ABS codes on Jazz too. https://ebay.us/wXnzEi

I've heard of Topdon before. Im sure one of the Youtube channels I follow uses one of those. I'm thinking Chops Garage down in the West country.

Do pop back and give us an update on the device. It's bewildering the choices out there, so a recommendation is always valuable.

I noticed that Topdon 600s is only £25 more and is more future proof as has i.e. electric brake release etc. Did not unpack the 500s when it came today and went straight back to seller with 600s on order from the same seller on ebay. Will report back soon.

Well the Topdon ArtiDiag 600s failed to connect to ABS module and read fault codes. Other than that it is actually really net product. Intial update took maybe 45 minutes, it was downloading news system as well as modules for different makes.

There seems to be quite a well thought out reporting feedback system, thus I submitted my VIN etc and what I was not able to connect to and will see if they perhaps update some module or tell me that the car is not supported with regards ABS module. Then it will go back to the seller for refund which would be a shame, because it is quite likable tool.

Ah, that's a pita. Hopefully they get back to you. Be nice to get the ABS issue sorted.

Given the money garages charge for diagnostics, your tool will pay for itself fairly quickly and be good value for money though.

Gendan I think are generally well known

https://m.gendan.co.uk/category_170.html

Having a look at the specs on each doesn't specifically state essential functions for ABS codes

Just wanted to mention that you often don't need a scan tool to read abs codes on Honda Jazz. I fixed an ABS fault using this method. (turned out to be worn brushes in the ABS electric motor (pump).

Here's a link to a video to explain all.
