CVT fluid for servicing
« on: December 18, 2019, 11:53:55 AM »
I have recently bought genuine Honda CVT fluid ready for my independent garage to carry out a service. However, they say that they have been advised by "the industry and insurers" not to accept parts etc from customers in case they become liable for problems arising.
Does anyone know whether this is now widespread please.

It happens with some of the bigger places, but there are plenty small garages happy to have your business. I had a supplied drop link fitted by my local tyre fitters, along with two new tyres and an alignment check, but they didn't charge for fitting it to avoid any come back. As far as the paperwork was concerned, it was never done, so no liability!

Can't see what the problem is as long as the seal on the canister is not broken.
Being bloody minded in my opinion.

Its all down to £ v Customer, some independent garages will take your parts/oils if prearranged.

Thanks for the comments. I'll try Jocko's suggestion (avoiding a paper trail) before looking for an alternative independent.
All the best to everyone for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year/Guid Hogmanay.
