SRS Unit for 2002-2008 Part Number
« on: October 05, 2023, 06:23:02 PM »
Long time lurker, first time poster so Hello to everybody.

Does anybody know what the part number specific digits stand for on an SRS unit? I've checked Honda UK catalogue and I know I need a part number 77960-SAA-E81. However when I check ebay all available units there have a longer number, i.e: 77960-SAA-E812-M1.

Would you know what the additional numbers stand for and if they are essentially the same units? Or, do the numbers need to match precisely?

Thank you very much.

And just to follow up on this. Would you know if the SRS unit on the 02-08 Jazz needs to be reprogrammed (to code in the VIN number etc) after a replacement or can it simple be swapped with another module from a different car? Cheers.

To answer my own question. Apparently the unit does not need to be reprogrammed according to this video:

This is obviously assuming the replacement part didn't have any faults or accidents recorded before it was removed.
