The Ural looks like it is a drilling rig, possibly for water.

Nearly. Think it’s actually this one, https://military.wikia.org/wiki/Ural-375D

Checked the vehicle reg. and it was first registered in 1967 and is SORNed now.

And yes @Jocko, looks like it’s a drilling rig. Next time I’m up there I’ll try and get a closer look, although it requires getting through 10 inch deep mud so it’s not on my running route!
