Looks a bit like this Dodge with the vertical grill - also RHD.

The pick-up looks American to me.
That is what I thought, but it is RHD.

I don't think it's American. Filler appears to be on nearside, that makes me think it's origin is a RHD country. Unless there's one on both sides, of course  ;)

I wonder if it's Scandinavian, RHD era? Volvo TL/Scania-Vabis had some vertical barred grilles early on. Can't help thinking it looks British 50s style front end though, with the headlights low in the grille.

Somebody must know the answer!

I came across this forum thread while looking for the Humber... interesting read, if you like that sort of thing. Superb restoration, the guy must have had very deep pockets.

Also found a couple of pics of the same vehicle spotted earlier, taken 2019 and posted on flickr. Here's one from the front

I was wondering that too, with the hole at the top. My first thought was something to do with a snorkel maybe. But the actual answer is so obvious when you see it.

In my initial comment, before I found the pic I took, I talked of it being parked 'in a tree'. You can see what I mean now. It literally had a tree growing through it.

The other photo is from almost the same spot as yours, both photos were taken in the winter without any leaves on the trees, and possibly after a bit of clearance. Looks likes it's disappearing into the undergrowth again.

It needs someone like the guy in the thread above to save it.

That thread was fascinating by the way. Thanks for sharing.

This vehicle is parked just near the gym I used to go to pre-pandemic. It's around half a mile from my home down in the valley bottom. When we had the floods in 2015 this spot would have been underwater to around the level of the windscreen. Not sure if it was there back then but if it was it may explain why it was abandoned.

Next time I'm down there I will get a fresh photo. Mine was taken last summer I think.

Certainly looks like it's been there a few years, judging by the debris that's built up in from of the front wheels.

+1 fot the interesting restoration link. It's always great to see the progress. Just imagine the hours and dedication required, together with the skills, tools and money!  :D

The spare wheel housing looks like an expensive solution to me. I thought spare wheels were always mounted externaly on that sort of vehicle.

So I was running up near where I saw the big GMC army truck the other day and it had gone. Hiking today further up the hill I found where it had gone to. It is clearly being used as a working vehicle in some role by the farmer. But here's another one for you. What is the vehicle behind it?
