How often does it need changing? Looks pretty clean?

My car is coming up to its fourth birthday and 25,000 miles. The CVT oil will be changed this service for the first time.

Honda say cvt fluid should be changed every two years or 25000 miles
which ever comes first

Yep
Your quite right.
Honda have serviced my car from new and  I left it to their expertise about the oil change and they were quite happy to go 25,000 miles rather than 2 years and 12,500 miles.
After all it is fully synthetic rather than mineral oil and as such has a longer life before it starts to break down.
I also have had no problems with the transmission.

The recommended CVT fluid change interval for the Mk 1 Jazz was 4 years / 50k miles but, as these vehicles aged (well beyond 4 years) they developed the infamous CVT judder caused by accumulated crud on the moving parts. Hence Honda reduced the interval (in around 2013 IIRC).

As already stated, the Mk 3 Jazz CVT fluid should be changed every 2 years or 25,000 miles - whichever comes first.

Vertu Honda failed to do this on my car at the 2 year service, unfortunately I didn't notice this until just before the 3 year service was due. I contacted Honda customer service to confirm the fluid change interval and then forwarded their reply to the Vertu Honda service manager. This got the result I expected - apologies and the fluid changed at the 3 year service. They will have to change it again at the 4 year service to get it back on the 2 year/25000 mile schedule.

So, check your service documentation carefully before driving home after a service!
