Title: Keyless Fob
Post by: guest7723 on May 31, 2018, 03:24:42 PM
Hi All

This is my first post in the forum so apologies if I am doing this wrong!

I own a 2002 Honda Jazz and it came with just one standard key with no keyless entry fob.

I was wondering what I would have to do to program one in as I am fed up with having to use the key to manually un/lock my car every time.

Cheers
J

I have a 2006 S and it has no keyless entry electrics fitted. Are you sure your can has the necessary circuitry? There are a couple of guys here who have retro fitted keyless entry kits, but you may need more than just a programmed fob.

I'm guessing the original poster meant remote central locking, not keyless.

just one standard key with no keyless entry fob.
When I saw the original post I figured it was remote central locking that was meant.
My wife cannot get used to me having to use the key to open the car. She about tears her door handle off before I get a chance to get near it!

If it is a remote key fob I bought one second hand on ebay as Honda only supplied one fob and two keys when new, they wanted about £130 for a second fob when I bought it in 2006. The circuit board inside the fob has a code on it and you need one with the correct code for your vehicle, there is then a process to go through to link the fob to your car (I found it online somewhere and it worked first attempt).
I don't know if all the early cars had remote central locking fitted, my 2003 1.4 SE does, I also don't know how you would find out what your code is without another fob to get the code off to start with. Think I paid about £20 for mine.
Mine is a two button fob, don't know if the 3 button to be would work or not.

I got a keyfob from ebay, doesnt do a thing as it turns out my 2004 is missing the receiver circuitry to see a fob.
