I haven't played anything in the car, since 3rd November, and I enjoy my driving more without music.
There's a well known phenomenon of being unable to do complex maneouvres with the radio on. I always turn it off if I need to concentrate - say approaching an unfamiliar junction or area.
Bit like I can't read if there is music or the radio on in the background. Lots of people can but I can't.
Ha Ha, you mean 'lots of people THINK they can' - but if you asked them questions about either the book or the music don't be surprised if they are a bit sketchy.... Like most people think they can be on the phone while driving, when in reality they are only paying half attention to each, and if it so happens that they are paying more attention to the phone and something happens in front of the vehicle that needs all their attention then in the seconds it takes to refocus their attention somebody may die or be seriously injured.... just sayin'..
There have been literally hundreds of studies where people watch say a short video while not on the phone and do quite well in the questions afterwards, but then introduce a phone ( handsfree or not ) and their recall of what was happening in the video falls sharply - most people on the phone while driving are on a 'wing and a prayer' and personally I do not want to be sharing the roads with them.
