If you really need to have more torque without higher revs in a Jazz, you’ll need to get the Mk4 hybrid. The electric motor will give you what you’re looking for.

I find the best way to keep it in the power band is to use the paddles in S-Mode for spirited driving. The CVT is optimised for economy so most of time it'll stay in the lazy zone of the rev-range and subsequently takes a bit of persuasion to get it to wake up ie push the loud pedal past the resistance zone (aka kick-down switch).

I dont like using the paddles as it pulls away in 1st unlike a earlier model which pulled a way in 2nd when using the paddles

I think this is a trait of all Honda's NA engines, even with the larger capacity engines they make. It's just more noticeable with the smaller capacity engines like the ones we have. This is made worse when you have an automatic / CVT.

I used to have a Civic Type-R and again it felt like there was no torque at low revs. Our 1.5 MK3 sport (manual) is not so bad but I still wouldn't call it torquey.

I think if you don't want to change cars, your only option is to have it tuned/chipped along with some breathing mods - although I don't know if they make any performance chips for your car.

Found CostCo SU made a difference (and the car doesn't like E10)

However Jocko is on the money.  NSF brake caliber sticking too
