Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: Have found and reserved 2013 ES plus cvt auto 7 gear!

Many thanks again for all replies. Done as much pre preparation, due diligence and inspects as possible to date. Even going as far as enhancing pics of tyres to check make and years of production before initial viewing! Bridgestone 2018s . Tread still very good in person. Only other bits were obviously stone chips to bonnet and scratches expected with 9-10 yr old car.
Cheers, Jocko. So do we!
And as fir previous service history, thought might be reality and only able to give if done at 1 of their dealers.
Got weekend to clear as much as able out of current car, without jumping gun but no reason why my mechanics inspection should throw anything up.
Also sort insurance changeover, breakdown cover changeover,  and tax and parking permit! Cheers again all.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015 - 2020 / Re: Very low annual mileage this year

Maybe servicing intervals became longer because of technological advancements. Better materials, better tools , smaller tolerances. After let's say 1990, cutting costs became an issue and also because of computer simulations less material was used and parts were manufactured to last for 'a certain period' instead of 'as long as possible'. The last decade, when environmental / exhaust regulations became more strict, I can imagine that servicing is needed earlier to make sure the (very thin) oil remains functional etc.

Odd how different manufacturers treat servicing.

Back in 2002 my 3.0 V6 Citroen C5 was 20k or 2 years !!!
In the 1960’s I had a flatmate with a Citroen Light 15, whose drive shaft universal joints needed greasing every 500 miles. It was a very comfortable car. The Citroen “Traction Avant” was the world’s first front-wheel drive car I think.

Servicing intervals were often extended to make the cars more attractive to company transport managers to reduce fleet running costs.

I have always done oil and filter changes at 5-6,000 miles. Which can be 4 months with the mileage I'm doing. I have a manual which the oil was done at 25,000. Air and cabin filters every 12,000. I wouldn't skimp on the cvt service.
Previous petrol mondeos both got to 200k treated similarly.

How did you get on with the tyres? Did you use the standard size i.e. 185/55/R15?
