This is the car that turned the American motor industry on its head,  the USA couldn't make anything of that quality and reliability and efficiency at that time.

I travelled  a lot to the US from 1970s to late 1980s. US cars of those eras were terrible.. poor panel fits, doors rattled as did the engine due to anti smog..
