Where is the ECM?

The ECM internal circuit malfunction diagnostic has come up. The advice is to check for damaged components /corroded pins on the ECM. Can you tell me where the ECM is please? If you know of any tips or common problems relating to this problem any information or advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

According to the Haynes it's on the left of the passenger footwell. There's a little curved plastic panel to remove but they say access is not easy. Good luck.

Many thanks, really helpful.  Doesn't sound like a job for me, it's more difficult to access than I'd expected, but useful for me to know where it is thanks.
