Is this information valid for Mk4 only, or is the same version the latest for Mk3 as well?

No, Mk3 is a completely different map as it is a different Garmin App, Mk3 map updates come out in Sept/Oct of each year. 2024 map will be then.

Thank you for the information! I'll wait still couple of months until getting the next update.

Turned my satnav on this afternoon and the "A new version is available" (or words to that effect) flashed up. Confusingly it gave me an option to "update now" or "cancel."

Bit deceptive for IT laggards like me - I know people who would press accept in the mistaken belief that the byzantine complexity involved in updating had been replaced by some AI inspired quick fix.

Alright, I admit, I almost did press accept ;D

I'm 74 now. I thought I was "mid table" in terms of my IT capabilities but I am firmly in the relegation zone now. I really should update my smartphone - I've done it in the past - but the thought now fills me with dread.

I did exactly the same and pressed accept. What I don’t understand is if this update came out in January, mine had the recall to update the camera, and then had a service, would the dealer not automatically update.
I only have Apple products so not really familiar with cards and downloads, so have just left it. I wonder how much it really changes.

Dealers tend to only perform some changes or fixes on 'customer complaint or request'

I've just booked mine in for it's second service and my new local dealer was surprised the camera recall wasn't performed last year as the recall was before Sep 22.

There does seem to be something fundamentally wrong with the mapping though because Garmin PND's completely replace old maps with new maps. My built in head unit is showing 2021, 2022 and 2023 mapping under the MyMaps screen.

Personally I don't see any point to update the built in Satnav maps, without real time traffic info, in my opinion, they are useless, opting for Apple Maps from CarPlay instead.

...Real time traffic isn't always applicable, sometimes you just need to know where to go.

I get that, but that could be straight into the back of a traffic jam, which happened to me many times with the Honda Sat Nav, hence why Google maps, Waze or Apple Maps are a better choice at all times.

I want live traffic as well. Got me out of so many potential jams.

Fortunately I've now got Android Auto boot time sorted and I get Google Maps showing the instant the Start /Settings nag screen disappears whether I touch Start or leave it to go on its own.

I get why Honda dropped TMC RDS but surely a software change would allow us Jazz owners to get Internet Traffic like on newer Civics and others.

...On a major-ish route maybe. I don't get that much call for it unless the M1 has a problem as that spreads traffic around the local area.

Glad I don't live where its a necessity!!

I have updated map a few times with no problem but this time the armin Express app cannot find the USB stick, same USB as used before and one other.

Restarted PC also, both formatted Fat32 as advised by Garmin.

Any suggestions?

Make sure you format the stick using the 'default allocation units' option

I had problems with an older USB2 stick but never had any problems with USB3 sticks
