Airbag Light On Stereo
« on: March 04, 2023, 06:15:25 AM »
Picking up my first GE Jazz today.

It's a 2009 EX with i-Shift. I know a lot hate it, but the CVT models are a bit out of budget.

Everything works fine & aside from a dented front wing & bumper, the body is good - & rust free unlike most GDs.

But I did notice this light lit up on the stereo. Is this a red flag or is it just to show how many airbags are active?

I think this light always comes on a few seconds and then turns off. Just as some other lights do at startup.

Also there is an option to turn the passenger airbag off e.g. when using a child’s seat on the passenger side. You can turn it on or off at the glovebox side (door needs to be open, you can use the key to turn a switch). If I remember correctly.

Turned out that was exactly what the light was.

Passenger airbag now on, light now out.
