MY22 Engine Bay
« on: October 10, 2021, 12:06:30 PM »
Hi.   I distinctly remember on the demo Jazz, and the still online at review sites - seeing an "Earth Dreams Hybrid" sticker on a slightly recessed section of the (engine?) cover.

Popping my Jazz bonnet open for the first time today (less than a week old, just nosing about) and it's not there - I feel cheated!    :'(

Is this a change in the latest model revision, and regardless - WHY.  This seems like quite a change from the lower image (no recess on MY22, Honda logo moved).  What else was changed?

That's very common with most manufacturers, after the first model year they refine it and find ways they can save production costs even silly small ones. Generally, the first model year has everything on it (including bugs & faults) then subsequent years they iron out the problems while removing any unnecessary parts to save on costs. My previous Mk9 face lift Civic has a perfect example of this, they removed all the plastic seat bolt covers that were on the first model year! It would've cost over £50 to buy them from the parts department so a good saving on every car for Honda!

They also removed the elastic strap that held the manual pack out of the way in the glovebox.
Without the strap the manual pack, if you carried it, made the glovebox almost useless.

Let's be careful out there !

If they cost £50 as spare part, they cost carmaker about £0.50

That's true but it adds up.

Can't see the pictures, sadly.

May I suggest using a regular web images hosting instead of a Google private space?

Or you can use imgur.com and store your pics for later use. It accommodates links for any type of platform on which you may want to insert a photo.
It is free and far superior to Photobucket, who now charge for their services and was very 'clunky'. (which is why I and many others ditched them!

Once you've got your image into Imgur the option to 'copy' is the second blue button from the bottom.

If that doesn't make sense I'll expand later.

Stick with Imgur though, it is the current best one IMO.

Boring as it may sound, the lack of the fancy sticker on the engine could just be a supply issue….
