Hi all. My superlocking is locked on. Can only access the car with the key through the drivers door. Key fob will not unlock car. After using key to unlock i can lock and unlock with fob but only driver's door. Any ideas?
-
new battery needed in the fob?
-
I don't think so. It flashes the lights from 30 metres at least.
-
maybe take the car battery off for a few mins and then try again, it might just be a glitch
-
I'll try that when we get back from France. Had to go in missus Peugeot !!
-
>:( :o
-
Tried taking negative off the battery for a minute. Didn't work.
-
Once inside, can you open all doors from the inside?
-
No. Other than the drivers door. They are all locked.

The master lock switch on the drivers side is ofc off, right?
Then you might have one of the 5 locks jammed by broken gear(s) or toasted motor.
Try go very close to each door and use the fob. One might sound different..
-
Master lock is off. When I click the fob, I here the locks clunk, but that's it. From inside the car the locks move slightly when fob pressed. I had this problem a few months ago, but I eventually got the locks open. Not this time !!

Hi
I could be wrong as this is for when locks will not lock
Make sure the handle on the tailgate is fully pushed forward towards the car
Also, try unlocking with key - I think you have to do it twice
Many thanks
John

Have you sorted the problem if so what was the solution please 🙏

No!! My mechanic had a look with his scanner today. Said he could lock it but not unlock it. The door handles inside move but don't unlock. He thinks either control unit or actuators. Though why they've all failed is odd. The previous two times this happened I got it open. Booked to main dealer next week. Let's hope they know what to do rather than just replace everything as they go...Contacted Honda uk to see if they've heard of it. Not heard back yet.

Any news on your lock problem yet
Would be interested re any solution
Hope it’s good news for you

Picking it up from main dealer tomorrow. Expect a bill north of 1.5K...
Wish I'd bought a Toyota.
-
Paid for the fix. £1100 not as much but still grim. Went to car in dealers car park. Unlocked car, put on the superlocking.
unable to get in the car!!!!!! Exactly as I left it 19 days ago!!!! Can only access drivers side with key in lock!!!!
The word nightmare doesn't do it justice!!
3 actuators replaced. Not sure that was the problem...
-
Rhymes with clucking bell! :o
-
Funny(https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a085.gif) to hear that a main dealer has the guts to take £1100 for such a 'repair'. Nothing has changed except two bank accounts...
-
What was their reaction when you showed them it was still the same ?
-
Got the service manager to car. Showed him the problem. Left it with them. Missus told them to refund me. They've cascaded it up to Honda UK. I suspect its an electrical problem, relay or something.
I'm not sure dealerships have the skills to fault find, replace parts yes, but I do not take my car to dealers, I use a good garage. But they've been OK with their communications. No courtesy car though after 20 days...
-
So is this a franchised Honda dealer ?
-

Now I'm a little lost here. Or rather more than a little... (https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif) What did you say here?

The (main) dealer you are mentioning, what is it, a (main) Honda dealer or a 'good' (https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/boese/d026.gif) garage?
-
Exactly the point of my query. I'm confused as well.
-
I have my cars serviced at a local garage. Used him for 12 years. Took the jazz to main honda dealer for the superlocking problem. Hope that clears up the confusion...
-
Jazz currently at Vertu Honda Nottingham...
-
Vertu, that says a lot after buying 2 PSA (Stellantis) vehicles I wouldn’t trust them with a pushbike :o
-
I get a little nervous when they say a technician is working on my car. I prefer a car mechanic to be working on my car...
-
If you have problems with the engine, brakes etc. you are right. (https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/haushalt/k050.gif)
With your problem, a technician really doesn't seem like a bad choice to me..
-
I think technician is a general term used for dealer/garage mechanics. :'(
-
makes them sound rather more up market, especially if you are charging them out at £120+ per hour.
say mechanic, think grease monkey
say technician, think highly trained & educated.
-
They used to call them fitters. Parts had to be hand fettled to make them fit. Especially on British cars. Hence the old slang term 'Birmingham screwdriver' (a hammer)
With 'Technicians' I tend to think, if the computer says no, they're stumped. :-[

Technician: not the one who, for example, replaces the brake pads, he is the mechanic.
Technician: the guy (or as with our dealer: woman) who walks around with the laptop (https://em-content.zobj.net/thumbs/120/sony/336/laptop_1f4bb.png) to help the mechanic locate a problem. (She also has a USB stick with all the latest updates in a desk drawer).
She seems to be a real computer freak. In addition, she is also a nice lady... (https://em-content.zobj.net/thumbs/120/sony/336/woman_1f469.png)

Diesel fitter. Diesel fit if I file them. Diesel fit if I hammer them.

The latest news from Honda. There was some error in the software stored there from previous actuator failure. They cleared it out, and now it works, but they are still checking it out. From 09.26 yesterday...Still not totally convinced it was the actuators though. Any thoughts anyone?
-
Just to give it a good test before driving away.

I can believe one actuator but not three. Sounds reasonable that something needed to be reset after the failure. I think they have over engineered the solution and you should ask for 50% back at least!
-
Jazz now home after 22 days !! Superlocking works OK. You do wonder whether a software reset would have worked. Like it does on a misbehaving phone !! I have the old actuators, and I'll have them tested.
I did approach the main dealer about a contribution to my costs from Honda UK.
We'll see...
My advice to anyone who has a door problem like mine is to get the software looked at first. You never know...
