Curious to know whether this is an issue in the UK at all. In Japan the TV and DVD switch to sound only when car is moving plus you cannot set or change the navigation or sound quality settings. So guess what the number 1 most popular tweak is.
I'm not concerned about TV and DVD but the passenger not being able to reset or tweak the navigation on the go is annoying. Is it also an issue in the UK?

No problem changing satnav settings on the move in my UK car.
I'm puzzled to see the terms TV and DVD in this context. Please explain.

...I've found if you're playing a video in the car and you move out of 'Park' then it cuts to sound only (MK4 that is)

How are you playing a video?

...Media file from usb stick.

...Media file from usb stick.
So what app plays the file?
-
...Whatever is built in. If you add an avi mp4 or wmv file in the same way you would add mp3s to your chosen media device, usb, sd card etc. then they'll play as videos/movies.
I haven't worked out how to stream Netflix yet though ;D

Japanese cars come with a TV tuner and DVD player built into the AV/Navigation unit. The Fit's is about 7" which is bottom of the range. I see a lot of cars with much bigger screens usually being used to watch TV.
Thanks for the information about satnav.

That's really strict! As long as you are stopped it is OK here.

...I'll investigate a bit more. there may be other scenarios whereby it allows playback.
