Hi,

We have bought an S model and I'd like to upgrade the wheel from steel to alloy. The dealer said that alloys from the mk2 don't fit, but people are buying a mk2 alloy as a spare.
Has anyone tried mk2 wheels on the mk3. The older alloys are half the price of the new.

I think the Mk III tyres are wider than the Mk II (185 cf 175). I also think this contributes to the better ride.

I hadn't noticed this difference but you are correct.

I can add that Honda's specs give the Mk 2 15" wheel as 15 x 5.5J while the Mk 3 wheel is 15 x 6J. However, there's no info about the offset.

The Mk 3 spare I bought from Cox Motor Parts has the 185/60R15 tyre but the style isn't the same as Honda's Mk 3 wheels.

I dare say the Mk II wheels could be fixed on to the Mk III hubs, but I doubt if the insurance co. would be very happy. It would be important to change all 4, and not to mix them, in view of the different tyre profile. I'm not sure if the narrower wheels would be noticeable visually.

The new Jazz6" wheel is same size as MK2 - wheel I asked Honda - see attached.

I imagine the 15" wheel the same - why doesn't someone ask Honda?

As far as I can tell they are totally interchangeable

Our new mk3 wheel spec is:

2016 GK cars
16 x 6J
4-100 bolts
56.1 hub bore
53mm offset (ET)

Tyres are 185/55 R16

Exactly the same spec as our mk2

If the 16s are interchangeable then the 15 should be too
