Mk3 Silver EX Bonnet Respray or ChipsAway
« on: July 15, 2020, 09:36:50 PM »
I've a 2017 Mk3 Jazz EX in silver which has two rather noticeably large stone chip 'repairs' on the bonnet made by the previous owner. Does anyone have any idea/experience of the cost to respray the whole bonnet and is the colour a guaranteed match or would a ChipsAway repair be preferable? Any thoughts much appreciated.

you got any pics ?

how big are they?

i usually just touch up mine with a spray can of the car colour and fine paint brush or toothpick, better than the little touch up brush you get from the dealer and cheaper too

When I had some bodywork repairs following an argument with a stationary object I was charged £150 per panel by a local company.  The match (sporty blue) was excellent as they mixed the paint on site.

My daughter had her bonnet resprayed at a local paint shop, it was a non metallic bright red and was a perfect colour match.  The guy who did it said the new paint was much thicker than the original and should be more resistant to stone chips.
