Interesting website that explains how different types of speed cameras used in UK work and what they look like.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

If anyone is interested in a comprehensive and good value speed (sorry safety) camera database for their satnav try this site - I have used them for best part of 5 years and for less than £20 annual membership you can download as many times as you like, most satnav types are covered.

Database is updated every 2 weeks and as well as info published by local authorities etc. they rely on members to spot and verify cameras and submit the positions - if you spot a new camera you get free lifetime membership.

If you are a logged on member the site remembers the last database you downloaded and suggests that as a first option next time.

There is a speed camera on my way to work (40mph dual carriageway) that goes off even if no vehicles are travelling along that carriageway (the camera is situated at the side of the road so only works in one direction). Either traffic going the other way 'triggars' the camera or it randonly goes off for calibration or whatever.
