Superlock system will not deactivate
« on: August 04, 2017, 08:14:32 PM »
Having activated the super lock system, in trying to deactivate it, it will not open but we can get into the car if use the key to open drivers door but no other door will open even though you can hear them click. Even the car will not start now. How do you deactivate it when it does not deactivate using the unlock on the key transmitter?

Did you try pressing the fob button twice?

Is your battery in the car ok?  If voltage too low may affect locking and starting - is the red flashing immobiliser light going off when you try to open doors with fob button.

Only guessing which model you own, 2002>08 GD?  If so then check your tailgate release handle is pushed all the way back to it's home position - a bit of a jiggle may help.  It gets stuck with age and interferes with the central locking, grease will fix it..

Check fuse in box above drivers pedals #16 (7.5A), it protects the keyless receiver plus quite a lot of other subsystems. Also check #8 (15A) in the engine bay fuse box - easy to check as it protects keyless plus cabin ceiling light.

You can borrow fuse #8 (15A) from the drivers internal fuse box as it only protects the cigar lighter.

The most simple thing is to ensure your keyfob battery is OK, there should be a tiny LED illuminated.

If you have any follow up questions it may be best to post them in the forum section related to your model.

Jazz 1.4 I-Vtec ES Plus CVT

Thank you everyone, much appreciated, in the end worked out it was a flat battery.

A flat battery in the car or the one in the key ?   There is a little red LED on the key but not very visible in daylight unless you cup your hand over the key while pressing the buttons.

Even if you have locked the doors using the fob,  opening with the key should still open all the doors and starting should be possible as the presence of the key in ignition lock with the correct 'passive' chip in key should de-activate the immobiliser as normal,  the buttons on the key fob are only for 'convenience'.  You can still 'superlock' the car using key if you turn it to lock position twice (within 5 seconds I think).
