CVT Automatic - gear selector numbers getting very warm
« on: April 17, 2017, 04:50:29 PM »
I noticed the other day that the curved strip with the numbers printed on next to the gear selector is getting surprisingly warm, even when the car's not been running for very long. The rest of the area isn't warm, just the "strip".

Is this normal, if not what could it be?

Providing the lamps are all working I wouldn't worry. The filament lamps are just below the strip of perspex and will get warm so it wouldn't surprise me if the perspex got warm. I've never thought of feeling it but it would feel warm on a cold day.
