4car forum is closing
« on: April 23, 2009, 09:12:48 PM »
Channel 4 is closing all of its forums...including 4car.  :o

They've relaxed their guidelines on posting links.....

...Done...link to this site posted. ;D

It was 4car that got me into forums waaaay back in early 2002. So if there was no 4car, there would be no Clubjazz.

RIP 4car.  :(

It was great in the old days before all the back biting and name calling.

'General' all-make car forums don't work. They all end up taking the mickey out of each others cars.

4car was far from perfect but at least it was better then 'RichardHeads' (millitant idiots) or the 'Lying Jim' (Daily Mail-reading finger waggers) forums.

4car itself closed today for good (31/12/2009). :(

You’re seeing this message because the 4Car website has closed.

Launched ten years ago as an online companion for the TV show Driven, 4Car grew into one of the foremost sources of independent car reviews, news and features in the UK.

Unfortunately the current economic climate has made it difficult to keep the site running, especially without the justification of an accompanying TV show. In light of the large running costs and downbeat commercial market continuing into 2010, we have reluctantly decided to close the site.

We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to 4Car over the years, from the fantastic array of journalistic talent, to the team of dedicated technical personnel at C4, and of course the millions of loyal users who visited the site every month.

Happy motoring,

Dan Gilbert

(Former) Editor, 4Car

I've removed the links to 4car in the Links forum. If anyone finds any other links in this site to 4car please contact me and I'll remove them.
