Hello Jazz lovers , today I got me renewal price it's gone up from £545 to £764 for next year's cover . Absolutely rediculus it's a 2004 1.4 idsi non mod . I have 6 years no claims,no points or convictions with only windscreen ,key and breakdown cover . Does anyone know of a insurance group that's not going to take the piss ? Ps I'm 38 so not some teen with a fresh license. Tia

I hear of a lot of sizeable premium increases these days, not looking to my renewal next year. The only option is to shop around a lot. Not just online comparisons, but direct insurers and brokers. I've always managed to save money by doing this.

Your age is good so I'm surprised your renewal is so big. Area can have a massive impact on premiums though, eg if you are a city resident.

I have had a quote from Saga for just short of £800:00.
Currently with Direct Line paid about £350:00 last year and am waiting for them to quote a renewal premium.

Take a look at MSE Martin Lewis has a page on his site covering Insurance.
Never renew, hunt around ideal time is key 21 days before renewal. Overall Insurance in the future will be linked only to vehicles with electronic signals IE new EV . All others have a limited life.

got to admit im with direct line. last year it was around £400 this year more than £600. i rang them up saying ive been with them for years and this was a joke. the knocked off about £160 over the phone. so worth complaining sometimes

For many years their 'auto renewal' quote was always ridiculous. Just took a quick phone call to get it reduced.

I just got tired of phoning year on year and switched to LV, who were cheaper anyway, much to their annoyance telling me I should have phoned and me telling them they shouldn't provide silly quotes on the off chance I wouldn't phone

LV is definitely worth trying although their premiums have also gone up significantly in the past year. The Mk 1 Jazz may be considered high risk due to the relative ease of access for the cat thieves.

I think insurance premiums have gone up for most people this year - I renewed back in October, they added £200 to last year's price, after shopping around I got it down to about £50 above what I was paying, which is the best deal I could find. Still a lot for a car that's nearly 20 years old and not worth much more than my premium!
