When I started my Jazz tonight, a "check system" light came on the display and the "D" drive light started flashing.
I can't find any guidance in the handbook. Could anyone clue me in?

I don't recall seeing anything about a "check system" light. Which display did it appear on, what colour was it, can you describe the symbol?

I can't decide whether it's supposed to be orange or red - probably orange. It's on the info screen. As well as the "check system" message, there's a cog icon.

If you have the manual copy that I have then it's on page 89 under "transmission indicator" in the section on Indicators in the Instrument Panel.

Big D and a cog symbol - says drive carefully and get to a dealer sharpish.

Thanks. Just spoken to the main agent. They say the CVT oil probably hasn't been changed every 2 years/25000 miles as specified, but they can't fit me in for 9 days. But as the light is orange, it's advisory. I could get it done at an independent place, but I don't know if they'd be able to reset the light.

Glad you seem to have narrowed it down. But I’m still puzzled about your description ... if you got a blinking “D” on the shift indicator and a cog symbol on the multi-function display, where was the “Check system” message? There’s nothing about any such message or indication in the handbook.
