HR-V eHEV----for those interested.
« on: September 21, 2021, 01:39:53 PM »
I have just finished a 30 minute ZOOM presentation by a delightful Honda Lady Called Julia.
You have an interactive discussion, asking questions and talking about the car. She does a presentation which most of us who have ordered will know most of the points about the car. I did hear/see a few things I did not know about.
One thing I did get her to do was PRESS THE HORN! HOORAY!!A PROPER HORN! PEEP-PEEP is dead!
The app has some very useful functions. Let's just hope it works better than Skoda's app.
All in all very impressed.
All we have to do now is sit and wait, because sadly, she said the deliveries will not be before next year!

That seems a good use of Zoom
So they must have a few test cars in UK / Europe ?
Surprised there isn't more use of this in selling and support.
For selling, it should mean higher grade lead generation being provided by Honda UK to the local dealers.
For support Use Androidauto / apple/ dedicated app to provide onboarding session using the media screen.
Offer 1hr per year as part of hondacare.

Does the hrv have enhanced safety systems? I see
  Collision Mitigation Throttle Control RR&FR
  Low Speed Brake Function
Listed on the Honda UK web but not in Jazz list.
Presume that first one would accelerate to avoid getting rear ended

I never knew the Jazz has throttle control, but apparently it is as below:

Collision Mitigation Throttle Control

Preventing a sudden acceleration following cars in traffic, the car will know if the car in front has suddenly stopped. For example, at a roundabout where the driver in front may change their mind and apply the brake.

Not sure where that information came from, but the only current EU Honda with Collision Mitigation Throttle Control is Honda e, Jazz does not have it.

But missing from that Jazz list is, Centre seat airbag, drivers Knee airbag and rear side.

That explains why the only reference I could find related to the e.

With many of these safety features, maybe they can be software upgraded on older cars if the hardware is the same?

If you think those quoted features are incorrect, blame Honda. They came direct from the configurator for both models, this morning. (but then the configurator, as far as the HR-V eHEV is concerned has been very incorrect when launched, so I wouldn't trust it!)

Went to the above last evening. Well presented by a Honda man.
Car looks fantastic in the 'tin' .
Fits my 6' 16 stone frame well and some very clever gizmos. Heated elements to melt frozen wiper blades and even one down the 'A' pillar to melt accumulated snow.
BEST OF ALL........... that bl**y peep-peep horn is GONE, a real BLAST of a horn on the HR-V

Thanks - just checked local Honda dealer and his ‘turn’ with the national presentation HR-V is on 8th October. Expects to have actual showroom examples by mid/end November.

There is a ship on it's way, currently heading for Nicosia and due in Bristol on the 6th October and into Southampton on 26th October with a load of demonstrators and showroom stock for dealers. Rumours abound, some say customers will get their cars late November and H.U.K personnel are quoting January.

Basically, the general opinion is that Honda are making a complete dogs dinner of this launch, probably caused by the semi-conductor shortage.

It does not, however excuse the very late arrival of the configurator and even less of two glaring errors therein. No hard copy brochures and only on line version meant to be available this coming week.

The cart has been put very firmly before the horse, as you could order the new HR-V in August with no configurator and very little information available. I ordered mine on the 13th August and was the first one to do so in my dealers. With, I hasten to add, a RETURNABLE deposit if I don't like it when I drive it. which I hope will be 2nd or 3rd week in October.

Apologies for continuing with deviation.

Link for review of the new civic, that extends the jazz / hr v design. Plenty of shared controls. Seat design keeps the jazz 4 unsportiness / retro ness, simple horizontal dash, low scuttle, simple door cards.
So the hr v is building out a nice ehev family.
