Best/cheapest source for radio codes?
« on: August 13, 2021, 07:15:52 PM »
Following our previous electrical issues (see link below) with the Jazz, we've now got to deal with a far more minor matter - reactivating the radio/CD player, as the battery connection was removed.

Unfortunately it seems that the previous sources of codes are either no longer viable - the Free Radio Codes UK site redirects to hondaradiocodes.com, which gives a code "2584" (not helpful with buttons 1-6) - or want money (even a "free" one which asked us to wait 24 hours or pay, then didn't send the code anyway). And our local Honda dealer wants £30, which seems excessive.

We're happy to pay if necessary - but we'd rather pay for a site or source that is reliable.

Any thoughts from anyone would be appreciated!

Found this hope it helps

If you have a 2002 or newer Honda turn the vehicle to the on position. Press the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time while turning on the radio. A 10 digit serial number will appear on the radio display. If you have a 2001 or older Honda the serial number is located on the body of the radio unit. the radio unit will have to be removed to see the code. At this point, you may want to bring the vehicle to your local Honda dealer unless you are confident you can remove and re-install the radio unit without damaging it.

@trebor1652 - Thanks - we have the serial number via this method, but the websites for turning this into a working code are either not working or very sketchy.

@Harley Dave - Thanks for this too - we tried it before, and unfortunately it doesn't like our Jazz's VIN :(

Sorry
Missed copying this bit

How to Enter the Honda Radio Code

Once you find or receive the Honda Radio Code just enter it in using the radio preset buttons. The radio should start working properly once you enter the code.

Once you find or receive the Honda Radio Code...

This is the bit we're having problems with, unfortunately!

How to Reset My Honda Radio After Putting in a New Battery

Turn the ignition key to the "On" position, but don't start the engine.

Turn the radio on by pressing in on the volume control knob. After 10 seconds, turn the radio off. Press and hold the power button for two to five seconds and watch the radio display.

@trebor1652 - No, we need the code. It asks for the code, and it can't be reset any other way.

Really, what we're after is the best source of a code for a Honda - as mentioned above, most of the ways previously suggested on this forum don't work (or in the case of the very helpful poster who would provide them, stopped posting in 2018).

Thanks - that link seems to be dead, but we tried freehondaradiocodes.com - that's the site that gave us a four-digit code with an 8 in it, and then gave instructions on how to enter it on a Ford radio. :(

Yes, that's one of the sites I've tried - it gives the result attached, and then this link: https://radiocodeford.com/help/how-to-enter-ford-radio-code

Wow - ok, thank you very much! No idea why the site wouldn't give me those codes..... very weird.

We'll try it tomorrow, and let you know....

I don't know if it's the same procedure as I haven't had to put a code into a Honda radio, but, on the old Ford radios they had a 4 digit code with random figures 1-9 but only 1-6 preset buttons to input it with, you inputted the code by pressing the preset buttons the corresponding number of times to input that particular digit, e.g. if the first number was 8, press preset button 1 eight times for the number 8, repeating this for each digit in the code with the corresponding preset button.
