I have to wonder whether the 3 cylinder 1L engine with less weight to carry around and quicker to warm up will rival the real life economy of the 1.5L hybrid.

I would say around town, where the majority of our stop-start driving is done, the smaller engined one will score. Out of town in the country you need a but more oomph to sustain high speeds up and down hills and mountains
