Title: Map updates on a 2016 EX Navi

I know how to do this.  I've got the usb, Garmin express etc etc.  I've done this stuff before re my bikes which use Garmin sat navs. My problem is ... if the license between Honda and Garmin has expired (5 years?), how do I update the maps?

I could just use my bike satnav but I'd rather use the screen sitting in front of me!

There was a recent post from a Honda insider that said you can't purchase updates so after your 5 years that's that.

Bugger! Does anyone know if Open Street Mapping might be uploaded to the unit on the jazz? Is it possible to select alternative mapping on the unit?

Update.  I was advised to check with these guys

Makes a mockery of a newer car when you can still get DVD's for the 8G Civic.

Update - Honda told me to get in touch with Garmin. (Nice example of slopey shoulders there!) I did so and eventually was given a case number and "we'll get back to you when the next update is available."  Quite why I couldn't be given the most recent update ... mystery!

I'll let y'all know what happens!
