Cat/exhaust removal ?

Anyone removed their cat & exhaust system,about to replace mine on `02,just wondered how easy the cat comes off ?

If it is the first time it has been off in 12 years, you will almost certainly need some heat and or grinder for the bolts. Front part not that easy to get at. Might be easier to drop the whole exhaust from the manifold back. Mind the sensors/wiring.

Thanks,it will be it`s 1st replacement,so we`ll just have to see !
Not prepared to pay what the exhaust centres want that`s for sure !

Update,got the whole system fitted for £205,had been quoted £380,hence I was going to diy it.
Just shows how you need to shop around !

Very good price. You must have found someone who wanted the work before Christmas. Make sure you get the EU certificate of conformity for the cat.

Main local exhaust centre,2 yrs warranty,couldn`t give a monkeys about a certificate tbh.

ask for the cat back, take it to local metal dealers and get some dough back.

Metal dealers love cats here.  They fetch more money than stolen copper pipes and ripped off cabling.  People even steal brass numbers off the wall
